James Sinclair keeps his life uncomplicated. His job as a trader is intense, he travels a lot and everything else must fit in or buzz off. Relationships don’t make a blip on his radar, and the world is really better off without that thing called love.

When James returns to his Paris apartment from a business trip to find a beautiful, unknown brunette in his bed, his cage of perfect existence is rattled. Said brunette turns out to be his little sister’s best friend, there by his own unwitting invitation.

Mila Johnson has done a lot of growing up since James had last seen her, and what’s a man to do but to claim his side of the bed, with a whisper that the situation is total fantasy material?

Mila is in Paris seeking inspiration for her first solo art exhibition. James’s unexpected arrival adds another dimension to her stay, especially since her teenage fantasy is still larger than life and slipping between the sheets with her.

One night of fooling around opens a Pandora’s box which Mila wants to pry open wider, whereas James wants to keep the lid on—Mila is a sweet innocent and no way is he going to expose her to anything, especially not to the real James Sinclair.

As he free-falls into complication territory, James struggles to keep control over his past and his heart. When his ex-girlfriend arrives out of the blue, hell might just be a place where he’d rather be.

Excerpt

James appeared in the entrance hall and Mila’s heart skipped a beat at seeing him. He looked ruffled, his tie loose around his neck and his hair disheveled as if he’d dragged his fingers through it too many times.
She sat straighter, brushing the tendrils of hair from her face. “Hi.”
He dropped his laptop bag at the entrance and tossed his keys into the bowl on the table. “Hi.” He closed in on her, and with each step he took, her heartbeat edged up a notch. By the time he stood at her feet and she had to lean back to see his face, her pulse was racing.
“Rough day at the office?” she breathed, their earlier sexting running on repeat in her mind.
“You could say that.”
She looked down so that he couldn’t see her grin, but her eyes came level with a budding bulge in his trousers and she had to look even lower. There was a rustle of fabric and with a sigh, he dropped his jacket to the floor. She looked up to see him tugging at his tie. He unknotted it slowly, intentionally, and her stomach did a slow warm-up at seeing his fingers, the memory of him licking her juices off them earlier as vivid as if he’d done so a second ago. The tie landed on top of his jacket.
“We have unfinished business.” He stared down at her as he started to roll up his sleeves.
She shifted in the chair, sudden heat crashing through her at the look in his eyes. Yes, we do.
“Your business dinner?” she whispered. She was in it deep this time.
He took his time to finish rolling up his sleeves. Every cell in her beat in a frantic tick-tock. She had no idea what he was getting up to, but within her, there was an unruly reawakening of this morning’s unfulfilled desire.
“Cancelled.” He placed his hands on the armrests and bent over her. She wanted to lean back, to get away from his gaze that didn’t break with hers, but she was trapped. His lips were inches from hers, and hers felt dry in anticipation that he might kiss her.
She ran her tongue across her lips, her breathing stalling as he bent over to run his lips across her temple. At any moment he could slip lower, to her lips.
But instead of searching for her mouth, he grazed her ear. “But that’s a good thing because now I can take care of other… issues.”
She closed her eyes as a heated wetness gushed between her legs. “What issues?”
“Someone called me a pussy tease.” He nibbled her earlobe and she dropped her head to the side to give him access to her neck. “What does that even mean, Mila?”

Author Bio

I've always been drawn to the magical escape of books and the journeys they take us on without leaving the comfort of home. I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to France, and this book was inspired by a visit to Paris some years ago. We were walking in some narrow alley in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, when I noticed a door with a single plaque with Club PrivĂ© written on it. My imagination got going, and at some point, things got pretty wild. I’ve wanted to write for a long time, but life had plans of its own. I’m grateful to finally have time to write, and love writing contemporary and erotic romance in far-flung settings. Taking readers on a journey of their own with my books is part of the plot. Bon voyage!

LOW by Mary Elizabeth **RELEASE BLITZ**

Title: Low
Series: Low #1
Author: Mary Elizabeth
Genre: Romantic Suspense
 Release Date: February 1, 2016

Blurb

It’s hard living on the wrong side of the tracks.

Lowen Seely has a criminal record to prove it. Determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps, he fights instinct and tries honesty. But hunger becomes painful, and bills are due. Forced to choose between what is right and wrong, the boy from the hood learns abiding by the rules is nearly impossible when corruption is in your blood.

Falling for an outlaw has changed everything.

Poesy Ashby is the definition of ride or die, even when it means turning her back on freedom. The girl from the suburbs gives conformity the middle finger. Bonnie and Clyde have nothing on her love story.

On the run with consequences in the rearview mirror, Lowen and Poesy accept the truth: they are the bad guys.

But can they get away with their crimes?

                    Review
                                            4.5/5 stars

Holy hell in all things insane and too wrong to ever be deemed okay to love..

Just before you continue, reading this book so clearly had to have "I'M SO SORRY" by Imagine Dragons in the background. On repeat. Volume turned up.

Try listening to the song right now and you might catch a glimpse of how I felt about this book ;)

My mind began from not really knowing what to expect.. into turning a complete 180 and LOVING it so much that I HAD to, NEEDED to know what would happen next.

I haven't read previous work by Mary Elizabeth so to find out I have been missing out on truly unique and very different type of writing?? Holy hell. I don't think I can do enough justice in how bloody amazing her writing was.

It's so easy, addictive and effortless but with so much emotional strength and soul.

I don't want to spoil anything and you can see from the synopsis what the premises of this story is, but I will tell you that Lowen and Poesy will be unlike any characters you have come across. And that is definitely something coming from a serial reader.

DARK.

RAW.

INTENSE.

HEARTBREAKING.

SOULFUL.

GREY.

SEXY.

FUNNY.

UNFORGIVING.

ADDICTIVE.

BREATHTAKING.

EMOTIONAL.

STEAMY...

Lowen is not your typical criminal record holder. Not by a long shot..

Poesy isn't just another girl that fell for a guy turned into a rebel, not agreeing with her parents way of life or point of view..

They both have such a strong individual story to tell. Lowen has had such a tough childhood and even growing up, the odds are truly against him. But he never gives up, he always finds a way through.. He doesn't want to step into the same path as his father but can that be enough when "corruption is in your blood"? Can a strong mindset to survive and bring bread on the table for your starving mother and sister be enough to justify a line being crossed from right to wrong??

When you have no options left, when you THINK you have no options left, do you turn desperation into corrupted way of life?

Poesy has a very strong weight on her shoulders.

You can't choose who your family is right? And at the end of the day, no matter what, family is blood. It's always there no matter how badly you wish it wasn't.. For Poesy, staying under the radar of the conformity her parents throw her way, or at least expect her to naturally follow, is 100% not what she wants, needs or is willing to stick around for any longer.. She has Lowen and despite the constant negativity that she received in dating the "help" she simply didn't not give a fuck.

From the very first chapter, she was perceived as a VERY strong minded and strong hearted character. She knew what she wanted and what she believed and even though she didn't know whether her choices would be right or wrong later down the line, she stuck with it. She stuck with Lowen, even through his 2 years in prison, she was his rock, she was ALWAYS there for him. Because LOVE and TRUST are one of the strongest forms of survival. Whether you agree or not, after you've read LOW, you will see for yourself..

No matter how twisted this sounds, behind every wrong doing there is right choice | Behind every false accusations there is a right answer | & behind every consequence there is a reward..

I adored the chemistry and power in their relationship. I loved and was actually surprised by how much I stood behind the choices that they made in their last ditch attempt in survival..

LOW is one of those books that you really don't know what to expect, whether you'll love or hate it, whether it would be too boring to move past the first chapter, or you wont be able to connect with the characters no matter how hard you tried. BUT, when you get into it, an hour later you realize you only have a couple chapters left.. The heartache begins because you know you will have to say goodbye to a story that without sugarcoating anything, took your breath away.. The sigh of sadness because you were so engrossed into the story, you didn't realize you should have savored every moment with Lowen..

All those "problems"when you find a book that is simply far too good, far too addictive and definitely far too soulful to ever notice the normality around it. Does that make sense? If it helps, I'm trying to explain that with LOW all the reality around you becomes a blur..

I cannot wait to read more of your work Mary Elizabeth. I couldn't get enough with Lowen and Poesy so I can only imagine what is in store when it comes to the rest of your work.. LOVED LOW!!

xx

Excerpt

“Keep the engine running,” I say. “If I’m not out in five minutes, leave.”

Poe nods her head, but doesn’t argue.

When the nine o’clock hour comes, both she and I watch the clock on the dashboard turn to one minute after.

“You’ll need to keep your mask on, Poesy. Make sure none of your hair is showing,” I say. “Keep your head down the entire time.”

“Okay,” she answers in a small voice.

“If you see cops—”

“I know what to do, Lowen. I know you want me to leave you.” She sighs. “But I don’t know if I can.”

Despite our circumstances, I smirk. “Hopefully you won’t have to.”

At nine thirty, Poe and I switch seats, and she gets behind the wheel while I load the pistol. With hands that shake uncontrollably, I place the ski mask over my head but don’t pull it down my face. I help Poesy with hers, tucking in every stray strand of hair so they remain unseen.

She grabs my wrist, and our eyes meet. I see fear combined with love and loyalty in her stare.

I kiss her knuckles and promise with the chance of lying, “We’re going to be okay.”

Unlike when we drove into the garage, the streets are alive and filled with a variety of automobiles, and dirty sidewalks carry several pedestrians. The forty-second drive to the bank feels like forty years. Thick blood courses through my veins, and I feel it flow through arteries and vessels, nourishing muscle and bone. My head echoes with the thump, thump, thump of my hard heartbeat. Every breath is shallower than the one before it.

“Pull down your mask,” I say, but my voice sounds foreign and feels a million miles away.

As Poe drives into California Credit Union’s parking lot, I grip the cold steel in my hand.

The edges of my vision blur; I’m blinded by adrenaline.

My skin crawls like I’m covered in spiders; I’m delirious with edginess.

“Your ski mask,” Poesy shrieks. “Cover your fucking face, Lowen.”

My girl reaches over and pulls it down for me. The car stops to a screeching halt, and reality crashes into me in a brutal rush, stripping me of air and voice.

“If we’re in this, you need to go,” Poesy says in a calm but stern tone, hidden behind her black mask.

There’s peace in her eyes.

There’s strength in the girl who stayed with me when I was locked up.

The one who’s remained by my side, believing and starving all at the same time.

With the gun in my hand and determination in my heart, I leave Poesy in the car and push open the glass double doors into the bank.

As I step foot onto the burgundy carpet, I yell, “Everyone down on the fucking floor!”
